Newport News Police Officer Katie Thynes, who was tragically killed in the line of duty after being dragged during a motor vehicle stop on January 23. 2020 will be laid to rest Saturday in Lowell Massachusetts.  The following are the arrangments for the wake and funeral:

Wake - Friday January 31, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Church located at 144 Merrimack Street Lowell MA.

Funeral - Saturday January 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church located at 144 Merrimack Street Lowell MA.  A burial ceremony will follow at Lowell Cemetary.

Officer Thynes was a United States Navy Veteran and mother of a two year old daughter.  Please keep Officer Thynes, her family, friends, and members of the Newport News Police Department in your thoughts and prayers.
